WHAT IS THE MERCIAN STRENGTH CLUB

I created the Mercian Strength Club to be my take on online coaching. I didn't want to just offer the usual virtual PT as I believe the technology isn't yet good enough to train absolute beginners over a video call. Instead I wanted to create programs for people who are at the stage where they need them and coach the whole weeks worth of sessions. My intention is to help consult people to get the best out of a program. Helping them adapt it to their own circumstances, whether that's a full gym environment or the equipment they have at home. The goal is to progress you through an ongoing program to consistently improve.


You can take a personalised program to your gym and we will go through it week by week through video call. We need to be able to adapt as we go along from the the conversations we have about doing the weeks workout. That is why a general training program is limited in usefulness because you're not adapting it based on how your body is reacting to it. Are you managing to make the lifts set on the program or does something need to change for you to start progressing.

I've been working in the fitness industry for the past 15 years, since I was 20 years old. Over that time I have managed to work with many people from athletes in strength and conditioning to GP referrals for obesity and diabetes. I have decided to put all of my experience and learning into a number of different programs that I have written purposely for online coaching. I have come up with a series of online services to do this as I don't believe the standard video session is particularly very good. My intention is to help consult people to get the best out of a program, month to month, mesocycle to mesocycle, helping them adapt it to their own circumstances, whether that's a full gym environment or the equipment they have at home. The goal is to progress you through an ongoing program to consistently improve.
